Porirua Anglicans can be defined by one or more of the 4 C's. Let us explain.
Community - Congregation - Cell - Christian
Community Member
Anglicanism has been around a long time. Many who have association with the Porirua Anglican Church, perhaps even call themselves Anglican in the Census, are nominally Christian. Their association may be via a parent or grandparent, through infant baptism, youth group membership or marriage, etc. Perhaps that is where their association with the Church community is currently.
Congregation Worshiper
These people attend Sunday Church worship at least occasionally. In England the Anglican Church is known as the Church of England. Sometimes we joke that C of E means Christmas and Easter attenders. Some worship with the Congregation only on these holy days. Others worship more regularly, perhaps even most Sundays.
Cell Group Member
These cells have nothing to do with prison. In effect they are small group members dedicated to taking their faith deeper. Like Jesus' disciples, these people are learning and growing to be more effective Christians. They have begun to catch a vision that as disciples (followers) of Jesus they want to make disciples. They believe that belonging to a small Church group will help them do this.
Christian Disciple
Like Jesus' disciples these people have not only learned the Jesus way but they have observed that the first disciples were filled and empowered by the Holy Spirit (the Spirit of Jesus). A hallmark of such people is their love and their humility. They are gifted in special ways to make a difference in the lives of others. They are prayerful and caring as they walk with God and others.

Cell Groups
Our Cell Groups are typically small groups of up to a maximum of 15 people - often around ten. The can be short season or longer term. They will always have a focus on growing in some way as disciples of Jesus. For that reason a healthy cell group will have a vision to make disciples and in season multiply because their number has grown. Currently Porirua Anglican has the following cell groups operating or planned:
- ALPHA - an eleven week basic Christianity Course - Next ALPHA Course
- Prayer - on ongoing grouping of people who believe prayer changes things - Prayer Group
- Bible Study - study, discussion & prayer that is centred on understanding Scripture, e.g. Lenten Studies - Watch this Space
- Discipleship Cell Group - variously includes bible study, video viewing, discussion, prayer, theme orientation, etc. - Coming
